Sharebuilder DRIP Purchases

Relatively flat day in the market.  Dow finished up 32 points to close at 12,535.

Today's purchases:
  • $250 of PG at $59.33. Yield 3.79%. **Lowest buy price of my DCA purchases**   Rough week for PG as it dropped 5% on weaker earnings estimates by management.
  • $250 of AFL at $39.88. Yield 3.31%.
  • $250 of BBL at $54.03. Yield 4.07%.
  • $200 of EMR at $44.09. Yield 3.63%.  **Lowest buy price of my DCA purchases**
  • $200 of KMI at $30.59. Yield 4.18%.
  • $200 of BDX at $72.84. Yield 2.47%.
  • $200 of CVX at $99.46. Yield 3.62%.

Total purchase of $1550 and added $55.73 to my annual dividend income.

  1. It looks like you are getting good value on some of these picks. Are you investing with limit or market orders? And are you dollar cost averaging on the way up and down? Or looking for certain prices to keep your average down?

  2. Hello Dividend Raven,

    Thanks for stopping by!

I have been using Sharebuilder to build my portfolio over the past 2 years . I use the automatic investing option and trades are $1. Buys go through once a week on Tuesdays.

I have a portfolio of roughly 25 stocks and try to purchase additional shares when I feel they are attractively valued but do buy additional shares each month regardless on where the market is.

I do DCA on the way up but generally increase the amount of money I invest on the way down. I Once again, I am trying to make purchases that I feel are the best valued.

I do use limit orders to make larger purchases typically triggered when a stock hits a certain yield(ie PG @ 4%).

My main concern is growing my annual dividend income every month.

I checked out your site (nice site btw) and we have a very similiar investment philosophy

    cheers,
    AA
