  1. Hi AA,

Great site. I was just wondering, is there a reason why you are buying RDS.A and not RDS.B shares?

  2. DGI, thanks for stopping by.

There is no tax withholding if you auto reinvest the RDS.A dividends and your brokerage is part of the Shell Scrip program (Sharebuilder is). If you take the A shares dividends as cash, you pay the withholding tax. Since I DRIP them, I started buying the A shares (they are cheaper and pay the same dividend as the B shares).

    cheers,AA

  3. AA,

That is pretty smart. In terms of the mechanics of enrolling into the scrip program, how did you do it? Is it as simple as clicking "reinvest dividends"?

    Please advise!

  4. DGI, with Sharebuilder..yes. But be sure to check with your broker to make sure they are part of the scrip program.
