Sharebuilder Weekly Purchases- CVX, EMR, BBL, BP, CAT


Another catch-up post.  Reporting my buys that have gone through over the past few weeks.

7/14 (Dow 18,054):
  • $250 of CVX at $95.64. Yield 4.48% 
  • $250 of EMR at $54.12. Yield 3.47%. 
$500 of new capital invested and adding $19.88 to my annual dividend income.

7/21 (Dow 17,919):
  • $300 of CVX at $93.99. Yield 4.55% 
  • $250 of EMR at $52.07. Yield 3.61%.
  • $250 of CAT at $82.25. Yield 3.73%
$800 of new capital invested and adding $32.05 to my annual dividend income.

7/28 (Dow 17,630):
  • $300 of CVX at $91.37. Yield 4.68% 
  • $300 of BBL at  $35.85. Yield 6.92%.
  • $250 of CAT at $77.36. Yield 3.98%.
  • $250 of BP at $36.85. Yield 6.51%.
 $1100 of new capital invested and adding $61.04 to my annual dividend income.

Note: Yields are getting stupid and new guests are joining the party..hello KMI!

On radar for next week: same names as above, RDS, DEO.  Big bucks, big bucks big bucks! No whammies!!

  1. EMR and CAT are looking really good to me these days as well. Nice pick up there and with BP's nice yield that appears to be safe. Great graphic. I used to watch that show.

    1. Yea, I really like EMR here. I think CAT could go lower but current rare 4% yield in pretty attractive.

      I used to watch the show as a kid too. Pretty funny show and applicable for investing in high yield names.

  2. No Whammies here! Nice buys. I just picked up some CAT myself. I agree, it may and probably will go lower, but long term its still a solid buy!

  3. Great buys! I also own CVX, BBL and BP and why not. Energy companies are providing great value right now, but, they have some downside risks as well. EMR and CAT are also fantastic companies. Keep racing!
