July 2013 Dividend Update

Little late with my July update.  Been pretty busy with work and family along with a nice week vacation to Zions and Bryce Canyon National Parks. 

Dividends Received

Total dividends received during the month were $502.62:

• PM $167.72

Purchases

This months purchases:

• $1500 of BBL at $52.29 Yield 4.36%. 
• $1500 of CAT at $84.19. Yield 2.85%. 
• $450 of RDS.A at $65.41. Yield 5.50%. 
• $200 of PM at $89.06. Yield 3.82%.
• $200 of INTC at $22.74. Yield 3.96%.
• $100 of KMI at $37.91. Yield 4.22%
• $100 of MCD at $98.22. Yield 3.14%.

Also reinvested all dividends.
 
$4,552.62 in total new capital added (including reinvested dividends) with initial yield of 3.84%. 

Dividend Increases

• KMI 5.3% raise. +$15.62 annual income.
• KMR 1.5% raise. +$7.94 annual income.
• PAYX 6.1% raise. +$11.35 annual income.

All together, annualized dividend income increased by $210 from last months total of $10,107 to $10,316. This means my dividend stocks will pay $10,316 in dividends over the next 12 months.

Reporting my weekly buys that went through today,  Market was flat and closed at 15,521.

• $300 of CAT at $82.90. Yield 2.90%.

• $200 of PM at $89.06. Yield 3.82%.

• $100 of MCD at $98.22. Yield  3.14%.

• $100 of KMI at $37.91. Yield  4.22%

PM and KMI are currently trading way above my cost basis.  I like the future prospects for both of these- especially for PM.  I am going to start adding to my position again and will add larger purchases on dips below $85.  Right now PM is my 2nd largest position behind GE.

Weekly buys went through yesterday with Dow closing at 15,568 which is at or real close to an all-time high.  I continue to nibble with another light week of purchases.

• $200 of CAT at $85.87. Yield 2.79%.

• $200 of INTC at $22.74. Yield 3.96%.

$400 of new capital invested adding $13.51 to my annual dividend income.

Market has been red hot over the past few weeks since the slight dip we had in June.  Today's buys went through on a slighly down day with the dow closing at 15,452.

Today's purchases were light:

• $250 of BBL at $55.26. Yield 4.11%.

• $200 of RDS.A at $67.08. Yield 5.37%.

$450 of new capital invested adding $21.01 to my annual dividend income.

June 2013 Dividend Income Update- $10k forward dividend milestone

Another month down and I am pleased to report that I broke $10k forward dividends this month.  I started my dividend growth investment game plan in April 2010 so this has taken me a little over 3 years.

The next milestone in my eyesight is also my 2013 goal of  $12k forward dividends- which may be hard to accomplish this year if the markets don't cooperate.  I am hoping for some big dividend increases the second half of the year from some of my big hitters to give me some lift.

Dividend Increases

• CAT 15% raise. +$23.18 annual income. 

All together, annualized dividend income increased by $193 from last months total of $9,914 to $10,106. This means my dividend stocks will pay $10,106 in dividends over the next 12 months.

We have had a slight sell off over the past week with the market losing around 4%.  Today's buys went through on a  positive day as the market was up 100 points to close at 14,760.

• $500 of BBL at $52.30. Yield 4.36%.

• $500 of CAT at $82.50. Yield 2.91%. 

• $410 of AAPL at $402.01 Yield 3.03%.

$1410 of new capital invested adding $48.79 to my annual dividend income.

Seems like I have been adding to the same few positions over the past few months as I continue to try to find the best value in the market. 

Market finished up 138 points to close at 15,318. Today's buys:

• $250 of BBL at $56.94. Yield 4.00%.

• $250 of CAT at $84.23. Yield 2.85%.  Nice 15% div increase announced a few days ago.

• $250 of RDS.A at $66.16 Yield 5.43%.

Both CAT and BBL are trading slightly below my cost basis.
