Sharebuilder DRIP Purchases- CVX, PM, BBL

Reporting my weekly buys that went through last week and today.  Today's purchases went through on an extra ugly day with the Dow dropping 272 points.

Last weeks purchases 9/30 (Dow 17,043):
  • $200 of CVX at $120.41. Yield 3.55%.
  • $200 of PM at $82.47. Yield 4.85%
$400 of new capital invested adding $16.81 to my annual dividend income.

This weeks purchases 10/7 (Dow 16,719):
  • $350 of CVX at $117.83. Yield 3.63%.
  • $250 of BBL at $53.95. Yield 4.60%.
$650 of new capital invested adding $24.20 to my annual dividend income.

Note: Bit of a sell-off over the past month or so.  BBL, CAT, and a few of the big oil names have lost around 10%.

BBL's initial yield of 4.60% is highest I have seen in the 2.5 years that I have owned the company.

  1. Thanks for sharing your recent buys with us. The commodity plays are definitely the ones getting all the attention these days as all commodity prices got rocked in recent weeks. Wheat, gold, oil, copper, silver. Why not jump on some energy and mining stocks. Good call.

  2. I have to agree with DivHut. Commodity plays look really appealing around now. I've had my eye on BBL for a long time, since it's basically a 'mutual fund' of basic materials and provides as much diversification as a single stock can. Actually working on a research report of it now. Hope to join you as a shareholder soon!

  3. DivHut, I agree and also bought a couple hundred ounces of physcical silver over the past week as we are seeing 5 year lows. Buy low- right.

    thanks for stopping by.

  5. Thanks for sharing AA. Great initial yield on the BBL. The market has been crazy lately, with yesterday's sell off and then huge gains today. It seems like each day is a complete swing.. I'm hoping that oil stays down and I can pick up some good deals on energy plays.

  6. AA,
Great buys you got there! Those are great value stocks. I may pick some of those in a few weeks when my schedule to buy stocks by the middle of the month. I currently have PM and CVX, looking forward to add position on dips.

  8. Special Agent Dividend,

Market has been crazy and the recent volitility reminds me of a few years ago. Some decent deals are starting to appear with some of the oil names leading the way.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  9. FFF, can't go wrong with PM (my largest position) or CVX. PM approaching 5% yield and CVX approaching 4%. Good buys at those levels.

    cheers,
