February 2014 Update

I am very happy to report that I broke $12k forward annual dividend this month.  I have been looking forward to hitting this goal for quite a while.  Averaging $1000 month in dividend income has a very nice ring to it.

I started my dividend growth investment strategy in April 2010 so this has taken me a little less then 4 years to accomplish this goal.

Next milestone on my checklist will be $18k forward annual income.  I should be able to hit that by the end of 2015.

Total dividends received during the month were $798.08
  • KMR $196.69
  • KMI $117.23

  2. Wow, heck of a month and congratulations for passing that milestone in such a short period of investing!

Would love to see more details on your Lending Club investments. I've been investing with them for quite a while myself and love to discuss and see how other investors are investing and managing their accounts.

  5. Writing 2 Reality,

    Thanks for stopping by.

Ive been on Lend Club for around 3 years and have a little over $20k invested. I have been pretty happy with the return- around 10% in mostly B,C,D notes. My filters are pretty common and similiar to what you have listed on your blog.

    cheers,

  6. Ritchie,

Thanks for the kind words. I also live and am a homeowner in very high cost area of Calforinia (Orange County) so understand the high expenses. The tortoise wins this race. Just make it a priority to add to your asset base (no matter how small of a contribution) and you will get there.

    cheers,

  7. AA,

Congrats! That is amazing. That is an inspiring goal to achieve. When I run retirement scenarios for my job a $1,000 pension (semi- COLA proof in your case) would completely change the retirement landscape. It takes a ton of pressure off the underlying principal.

  9. Evan,

Thanks for the comment! Ive had my eyes on this goal for a while as I know I will generate a nice yearly increase in income with dividend reinvestment and dividend raises alone. Takes a little preassure off me at work where I am in a pretty competitive sales environment.

    cheers,
    AA
