$600 of new capital invested and adding $31.17 to my annual dividend income.

6/2 (Dow 18,068):
  • $500 of RDS.B at $60.43. Yield 6.22%
  • $400 of CVX at $102.38. Yield 4.18%
  • $400 of BBL at $42.63. Yield 5.82%
$1300 of new capital invested and adding $71.10 to my annual dividend income.

Note: Oil names are close to 52 week lows again and offering very attractive initial yields.  Lets hope Shell and BBL keeps dividend steady or else its gonna be look out below! But being a value shopper, gotta buy whats on sale.

On radar for next week: more of the same- especially if the above names are lower.

  1. I like BBL here as well but it annoys me that they only pay out dividends twice a year??

I agree though that we should look for an upcoming bounce off these recent lows. If not, its uncharted resistance area.

    1. BBL well over 6%. Hold nose and buy IMO. We may see 7%? If dividend holds these will be very good purchases when we look back in a few years,

    1. If dividends hold, buys in oil at these levels will turn out very well given some time. PG close to 3.5% is rare for the company. Buy whats on sale.

    1. I like and am long all the names you mentioned. Like CVX, BBL, and RDS the most at these levels. Its a race to 7% w/ BBL and RDS!

  6. Shell has never lowered dividends since end of the second world war. So should be O.K.
More over western european system is heavily regulated due to the number of rip offs and scandals. There is a minimum performance rate a company should deliver otherwise pension fund is forced to sell the shares. There is a lot of strings.

    1. Ive been long with Shell since 2010. I dont think they cut the dividend and will use this weakness to keep adding to my position. The buys where I have to hold my nose when I place my order tend to turn out to be the best in my experience. Thanks for stopping by!
